The history of the Asgariathan race is long and bloody. But it begins billions of years before the Asgariathan race emerged. When God created the universes, he created a race of beings known as Angels. They were beings of great power, meant to be the holy overseers of God’s creations. They lived with God in Heaven and were supposed to be pure and incorruptible.
In addition, God created 4 planes of existence. One was ‘Heaven’, a holy kingdom in the clouds where nothing was scarce. It was meant only for those who obeyed God's teachings. It would be from where the good would shine upon the world and from where the angels would guide the mortals.
Another was the material plane, a place where the good and the bad would balance out, and its occupants would live or die by their own will. It is the world we exist in, the physical mortal plane. This is where God's creations were meant to live their lives.
The third was Regno Tenebrarum, the shadow realm where souls of those who held regret and sadness would go. It was not a realm of evil, but those who were to end up in it could not let go of emotional pain and would instead simply find rest. It was tranquil but sad and lonely.
The fourth and last of the planes was called Hell. It was a place of raw evil, where those whose souls were corrupt could live in rage and anguish. It would hold sins and act as a containment of evil.
God then created his first race to populate the material universes. They became the Grays. Without any sort of opposition or hardship, they prospered and spread throughout the stars. They became the first intelligent mortal civilization. They resembled 4 foot tall aliens with massive heads. They knew of God's existence and lived morally.
But certain angels envied their freedom. Satan, an archangel, took this to an extreme and believed he could rival God, so he led a third of the angels in rebellion. They made a remarkable attempt, but were ultimately defeated. They were cast down into Hell as their hate and rage burned the material world, destroying the empire of the Grays. Their hate and ferocity turned them into beings of darkness and fire, and they became known as Demons. They fed off of sin in the mortal world and turned sinners into Demons.
Another third of the angels remained somewhat neutral during the war, incapable of deciding which side to choose until near the end they joined Heaven’s army. But their hesitation weighed down their souls and they too were cast down from Heaven. Since they were not evil in themselves and repented for their actions, they were sent to Regno Tenebrarum, where they became remorseful and despairing creatures of darkness, swearing to destroy the Demons at any cost- even the destruction of all that is holy. Over time, they took the souls of mortals and converted them into Wraith, remnants of souls which served the Fallen Angels. They became embodied as shadowy figures, representing their fall from grace and the remorseful souls that remained.
